Part of the Everyday Carry mentality is having what you need, when you need it. This might mean your trusty concealed carry firearm of choice, knife, or any other piece of equipment. While carrying a gun on your person is the best option, you probably also want your car or truck setup for quick access. Typically the options are the traditional glovebox or console storage, which are clunky and not secure allowing for items to just roll around. After purchasing these inexpensive items, I was able to make a much more practical solution.

Easy Access Magnet – (2 Pack for $19.95 on Amazon)

The centerpiece of my setup is this easy-install magnet. It attaches with two incredibly small screws. I decided to attach it to the side of my center console. With ease, it holds most carry-size firearms at a convenient height. I have noticed that larger full-size guns tend to rotate a bit with their weight, so if you’re wanting to secure a larger firearm, use both magnets in the set.

Console Tray Foam – ($12.50 on Amazon)

Many vehicles have trays either in the door or console area. Grabbing a “Pick Pluck Raster foam tray” turns the space into a functional utility area. The foam comes in a solid sheet but perforated so you can easily trim it to fit. The selection here on Amazon has a variety of sizes and options. With two pieces filling the tray, I can easily store magazines, a knife, and keep a flashlight secure. A very easy upgrade of otherwise clunky space.

SOG Escape Folding Knife FF25-CP - Built-in Strap Cutter & Glass Breaker, Hardcased Black 3.4" Blade, Aluminum Handle

SOG Escape Folding Knife – ($34.18 on Amazon)

SOG Escape Folding Knife FF25-CP - Built-in Strap Cutter & Glass Breaker, Hardcased Black 3.4" Blade, Aluminum Handle

This is a super practical and affordable option to keep in your vehicle. It features a partially serrated 3.4″ folded blade. What makes it so useful though are two features: the Wire Cutter and Glass Breaker built into the handle. In case of an emergency, this will help you remove a jammed seatbelt or knock out the side window glass. For the price it’s worth putting at least one in every vehicle you drive. You can find this model, as well as a lot of other SOG tactical knives over here on Amazon.

Morakniv Craftline Pro S Allround Fixed Blade Utility Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade and Combi-Sheath, 3.6-Inch

Morakniv Craftline Pro S – ($10.73 on Amazon)

A great clip-on option is the fixed-blade Morakniv Craftline. Starting at just under $11, it’s worth clipping on just about any surface. I keep one attached to the edge of the console at at the price, a few others stashed around.

Streamlight 88061 ProTac 1L-1AA 350 Lumen Dual Fuel Professional Tactical Light

A Tactical Flashlight – (From $10 to $35 on Amazon)

Tucked between the edge of the console area and the foam is a tactical flashlight similar to this one by Streamlight. Most lights these days are great with super bright LEDs and several different modes including a strobe feature for self-defense. Having a strong, bright flashlight handy rounds out my console quick access recommendations.
